Custom street art illustrations – created in very large scale – as a community art project for Louisville’s 2018 Safe Streets Block Party. The street art illustrations are intended to slow traffic speed entering the community neighborhoods – drivers need to slow down to fully see the artistic imagery on the street surface for the key intersections.
Megan hand illustrated image outlines in the early morning hours to avoid commuter & daytime traffic. The image outlines were then painted in the evening by the public attending the ‘block party’ as a large-scale paint-by-number for the community.
The semi-permanent street illustrations are found in the following intersections:
“Tree” – Bella Vista Drive & South Hoover Avenue
“Humming Bird” – Pine Street & Garfield Avenue
